Jesus Awareness Week

SO today was the first day of Jesus awareness week at York!
I was a little taken a back at the REPENT T-Shirts in large writing that were ordered for the events. But I sucked it in and decided to kill my shame for Jesus =) LOL

THe worship walk was sooo AMAZING! We worshiped and handed out tracks but God was with us the WHOLE WAY!! It reminded me of how Paul and Silas were prasing God in prison and how God set the prisoners free while they were doing it. It also reminded me of the story of King Jehosaphat when he appointed men to sing praise at the head of the army and how God sent an ambush against their enemies. (2 Chronicles 20:1-30)

We ended right in the middle of Vari just when students were changing classes and we did a spoken word on repentence and lukewarm Christianity. My friend Yomi got up to preach for a bit and then we started to evangelize except I had to leave and do bible study.

A lot of people were laughing, a few intersted and others encouraged. Funny thing is I didn't really care that much about what people thought.

The YHOP is starting to get more intense! Everytime now! soo exciting!

Word for the Millennials

Generation Y (1984+), We're a lazy, apathetic, indifferent, selfishly spoiled, empty, lost, sexually immoral, faithless, lukewarm generation. Our postmodern neoliberalistic thought laughs at the most High Most God and will be the death of us. But He can take you from your hell bound path, dust you off and turn you around to be a generation with clean hands and a pure heart, a people of His very own that loves Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength for His glory in these last days.

Lets pray and contend for this generation~

Love

its funny..... I have experienced God's love in such a tangable way in the past, but I have never really been able to fully accept it in my ....spirit.

i've actually been living by works for so long but I was always sustained by His grace.
Its really hard to accept God's love after I have leaned so much about His Holiness, wrath, glory

I guess the reason why I don't want to accept His infinite LOVE is because I don't want to except His infinite WRATH for all of eternity.

If I allowed myself to fully accept His love then I would have to live in the reality of His wrath as well for each person in my life....

and the thought of it is too PAINFUL too BEAR
its hard to love.

its painful to love
when we are called to love GOd and to love others
its a call to die to ourselves....thats what love is.

I don't want my souls to have to agonize over the many that are perishing
I dont want to bother with bearing with believers who are still maturing....

I think I'm finally getting this revelation in my spirit along with .....a deeper revelation of His Son....manifest through Us ....its CRAZY

but its not even about that.
He's so much stronger!
I barely contain the love that He's filling me with!
Even when I try to contain IT LEAKS OUT JESUS LEAKS OUT OF ME EVEN WHEN I TRY TO SHUT HIM UP INSIDE

CHRIST IS THE ONE WHO IS LIVNG IN ME
HE'S CONTROLLING ME MORE AND MORE
LIKE A FREAKING LOVE VIRUS
HAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

The Spirit

of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." Luke 4:19

Jesus was reading off of Isaiah and fullfilled this prophecy. He was the perfect veseel. but even in the OT the Word of Lord would come to the Prophet (basically Jesus, in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God ..and became flesh) Sooo Jesus would be manifesting Himself through thr prophet.....

and now in these last days the Holy Spirit comes into the hearts of His people and gives them that same anointing to preach, to heal....
Jesus living INSIDE us

I`m a vessel....
ugh its soo trippy like His Spirit will come down on me and give me courage to preach to worship to evangelize in public unashamed.

Like a rider and his horse.

but even when I go out
I`m always driven to a point where I wonder where is the power of the message of the cross for it to come not only in words but in POWER and DEEP conviction!
(1 Thes. 1:5)
and it brings me back to my knees

1. because I don`t have enough love when I preach or evangelize
2. I could talk to 3409 people and without His Spirit it is useless

most people KNOW the gospel but its sooo dry.
I want to see the power that I always hear about. I thirst for it..
Sometimes its soo REAL to me LIKE AHHHHH

the key really is a prayer revival movement amongst His people

to `Stand at the crossroads and look ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, We will not walk in it. Jeremiah 7:16

``When His people believe the world will believe``

we are at the mercy of God
Why Lord do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you Is. 63:17

The Man on the cross is Joyful

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

God takes the most wreched thing in the world and makes it beautiful
He takes the most painful thing to endure and makes it a joy.
He makes this possible through Himself and beckons everyone to follow Him in doing the impossible.

He truly is a God full of mystery and wisdom that none can fathom!

The Urgency that leads to prayer

Throughout the ages, there has been a been a common theme that appears concerning the relationship between God and His people. That “if my people who are called by my name would humble themselves then I would hear from heaven and come heal the land” This is the promise the Lord revealed to King Solomon for His people. Despite the changing nature of people, God is unchanging and is always faithful to His promises. The whole of the Old Testament revolves around the people rebelling then humbling themselves and God answering their cries. The way He answers is always different and shows His immense wisdom in choosing the perfect solution for that specific group of people.

The first outcry that broke out was when the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt
The Lord sent Moses and led them to the promise land

In the times following the entrance into the Promise Land
The Lord would sent judges to come deliver the people from the hands of the enemy

In the times of the kings….
The Lord would grant victory and prosperity to the Land when the King would lead the people into repentance. It says in the book of Chronicles that the Lord gave him rest on every side.

In the times following the exile…
He sent Ezra and Nehemiah to rebuild the city

Before the Lord would answer, the people would be in a place of complete brokenness.
They would gather from every town throughout the country to seek the Lord.
The book of Lamentations a whole book devoted to Lamenting before the Lord …

“How deserted lies the city once so full people….How the gold has lost its lustre”

And again in the book of Joel
“mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the husband of her youth….Put on sackcloth, O priests and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend a night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God….Declare a holy fast a sacred assembly.

“Even now declares the Lord return to me with all your heart with fasting and weeping and mourning”

The people would only turn to the Lord in their most desperate times, despite the countless warnings that were given to them ahead of time by the prophets. They would refuse to listen and would mock them until it was to late. In fact there are only two times from my reading the scripture that the Israelites just listened and obey. Once during th reign of King Asa and the other in the time of Zerebabbel.

Finally God sends Jesus because everyone else He sent the prophets before Jesus weren’t able to solve the problem. Jesus tells us this is the parable of the tenants.

This theme of crying to the Lord does not change but continues in the New Testament

Jesus says:

“How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while is he with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast."

Jesus is referring to the future church.
We see that the early church would be praying
When Peter was in prison “many gathered and were praying. The early church would be praying for strength and boldness after John and Peter were beaten by the Sanhedrin.

In the book of James, he describes a church that is full of many disputes and fighting and he tells them to turn their laughter into mourning and to weeping and your joy to gloom Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord and he will exalt you

In the times following the bible, the same theme would also be prevalent in the church. Every great revival ever record in history started with people praying and crying out to the Lord in desperation.

Samuel Mills was a freshman at Williams College in Massachusetts in 1806, when he met with four friends for prayer about revival and world missions. When a rainstorm hit, they took refuge under a haystack and continued to pray (thus becoming known as the "Haystack Five"). "When the rain subsided, Mills stood up, slammed his fist into his hand, and announced, 'We can do this, if we will!'" These five young collegians stepped out in faith and not only initiated the first nationwide student movement, but also began the first six mission agencies from North America.

At the age of 13, Evan Roberts began to seek the Lord. When he was 26, revival came to his hometown in Wales. He taught the people to pray two simple prayers, "Send the Spirit now for Jesus Christ's sake," and, "Send the Spirit now more powerfully for Jesus Christ's sake." God's Spirit came so powerfully that 100,000 people were born again.

It says in the book of Hebrews
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us

With these great testimonies of faith, What will our response be? Can we live up to the standard set before us by our predecessors?

Brothers and sisters, it is time for us to awake for the hour of our salvation is closer than when we first believed. We are in the last days there is not much time left. We are in desperate times, a time where the harvest has been eaten by locusts, a time when we are surrounded be an army to large for us to fight. We must understand the times we are in and the pressing urgency if we are to spread the Word of God effectively in our lives. If we are to pray with the conviction and power that we are commanded to pray with in His Word.
